The Government of British Columbia, in partnership with Naqsmist and regional Cultivating Safe Spaces facilitators, welcomes First Nations, Inuit Peoples, and individuals identifying as Métis to participate in Indigenous engagements for the Gender-Based Violence Action Plan.
This important initiative is a response to the disproportionate effects of gender-based violence on marginalized communities. The Action Plan, as part of the Province’s commitment to reconciliation and implementing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and B.C.’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, aims to create comprehensive strategies to address this complex issue.
Join in person or attend one of the virtual engagements facilitated by Elaine Alec. Registration is required.
See the attached PDF for session dates, locations, and information on regional facilitators. Share this information with those in your network who should be involved.
Don’t miss the Opening Ceremony at the Musqueam Cultural Centre in Vancouver on May 20th, 2023, from 3:00pm – 6:30pm.
